Biography:
Alejandra was born in Mexico City, where she feels lucky to have received a bicultural and bilingual upbringing from her parents: an American mother and a Mexican father.
Her work reflects this personal diversity; it combines elements from both the Latino and American cultures which she experienced growing up.

In 2008 Alejandra completed her first staring role in English in Stephen Mills’ short
Liminal. Liminal opened at the Hollywood Film Festival in L.A. and in 2009 Liminal is an official selection for the Women In Film Festival B.C. to be held in Vancouver, The 23rd London Lesbian and Gay FF and The Festival du Cinéma de Paris among others.

Alejandra’s other English language credits include a co-starring role as Carrie Fisher and Griffen Dunn's daughter in the PBS production
Trying Times, directed by Buck Henry; a featured role as Haydee Santamaria in the Hallmark/Showtime production Fidel; as well as roles in Species: The Awakening (MGM) and The Librarian: The Quest for the Spear (TNT).

In 2006 Alejandra was nominated for an Ariel (the Mexican equivalent of an Academy Award) as Best Supporting Actress for her role in
Side Effects (Efectos Secundarios), the first Warner Brothers premium feature produced and filmed entirely Mexico.

Alejandra’s most recent Mexican movie
El Viaje de la Nonna,(The Nonna’s Trip) 2008 was directed by Sebastian “Batan” Silva. Batan was 1st AD of the Academy Award nominated Babel. El Viaje de la Nonna has been presented successfully at various festivals including the International Latino Film Festival in San Francisco where it won the prestigious “Audience Award”.

Alejandra began her career as a child actress on the Mexican stage. She came to prominence for her acclaimed portrayal of Helen Keller in
The Miracle Worker. She then went on to star as Annie in the musical Annie and as Mary in The Children's Hour. Alejandra became a national phenomenon playing the featured role of “Adrianita” in the sensationally popular Televisa Soap Opera, Quinceañera.

Alejandra has followed her early successes by developing her careers in Film, Theatre and TV. Her work in Mexico is ample proof of her talent and versatility and includes the features:
Todo el Poder and El Segundo Aire ("Second Chance") both produced by Altavista Films, Vivir Mata ("Living Kills") from Titan Productions and the award winning short La suerte de la Fea a la bonita no le Importa (Weight Watch) produced by IMCINE. Alejandra has also continued to appear on T.V.in sitcoms, series and soap operas including, among others, La tía de las Muchachas, Mi Segunda Madre and Amigas y Rivales all produced by Televisa, and most recently Postdata, a series developed and produced by Academy Award Nominee Adriana Barraza.

Alejandra has continued to refine her skills at various prestigious acting schools in both Mexico and the United States. These include the Casa del Teatro and Foro de Teatro Contemporáneo in Mexico City and at North Western University, the Ensemble Theatre Community School, Stephanie Feury's Studio and privately with David Lehman and with Ken Lerner in the U.S.
